THE WHITEST BOY ALIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN BARCELONA

The four-piece Berlin-based band, The Whitest Boy Alive (Erlend Øye, Marcin Öz, Daniel Nentwig, Sebastian Maschat) will perform at the Bikini in Barcelona on Wednesday 8 September. The band's work draws from easily-recognisable sources, such as indie-pop and dance music, although these ingredients take on a new meaning in their particular formula, giving rise to a very personal sonic balm that is apt for either contemplation or active enjoyment. The guitars and angular rhythms evident in their debut, Dreams (2006), have given way to a more dynamic focus with a greater organic house flavour in Rules (2009), their second album, which, in their own words, sought to translate the rhythmic pulse and atmosphere of their exuberant live shows to the studio.
